Goochland County has officially launched Phase I of the Goochland Area Wi-Fi Hotspots with locations at the County Administration Building and all six Goochland County Fire-Rescue Stations.
Information about accessing the Hotspots is available at http://www.goochlandva.us/1101/Goochland-Area-WiFi-Hotspots as well as in this document available at multiple County facilities. Specific parking spots have been designated for users in order to ensure access to maximum speeds from the Wi-Fi Hotspot as well for citizens safety and security while using it. Users will need to select “Public Wi-Fi” to access the internet. Additional County locations and community facilities will be added as part of Phase II.
The County is developing external and select internal hotspot locations at county facilities county-wide to provide citizens with enhanced opportunities to access broadband internet. This is a short-term strategy to provide access and fill a need while the county implements longer-term broadband strategies to provide all interested Goochland citizens access and options for broadband service provision. Information on Goochland County’s Broadband Internet Initiatives is available at http://www.goochlandva.us/1025/Broadband-Internet.
Local businesses, non-profits, and community facilities are encouraged to serve as community hotspot locations. Those interested in being added to the list of publicly accessible area Wi-Fi Hotspots should contact Paul Drumwright at (804) 556-5833 or email@example.com.
