I’m interested in pursuing curbside recycling through my homeowner’s association (HOA). How do I get started?
First, contact your Home Owner's Association (HOA) and determine if this is a feasible option for your subdivision. Depending on how your bylaws are set up, you may need to hold a meeting or send out a notification, to get consensus on initiating this program and charging residents for the service. The County bills each HOA according to the number of households in the subdivision, regardless if certain households do not wish to participate in the program.

The current cost is $25/household/year. New curbside recycling contracts and contract renewals will be sent out annually in the Spring of each year. Prorated contracts will be considered on a case by case basis for subdivisions joining mid-year. Payments received by the County will be transmitted to the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority.
