[ARCHIVED] Goochland Wi-Fi Hotspots Offline for Maintenance December 13 (4:30 - 7:30 p.m.)

Goochland County - Goochland Area Wi-Fi Hotspots Outage - December 13 2020

Goochland County’s Goochland Area Wi-Fi Hotspots will be down and unavailable to provide access to the internet on Sunday, December 13, 2020 while the county performs network maintenance.

The county’s Goochland Area Wi-Fi Hotspots outage will start at 4:30 p.m. and is expected to last 3 hours with service restoration by 7:30 p.m.

The outage will affect the Wi-Fi Hotspots at the following locations:

  • Goochland County Administration Building
  • Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 1 – Manakin
  • Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 2 – Crozier
  • Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 3 – Centerville
  • Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 4 – Fife
  • Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 5 – Courthouse
  • Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 6 – Hadensville
  • Central High Cultural and Educational Complex

Goochland Area Wi-Fi Hotspots not affected by this outage include:

  • Goochland Elementary School
  • Randolph Elementary School
  • Byrd Elementary School
  • Goochland Middle School
  • Goochland High School
  • Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church (GCPS DOGFI)
  • County Line Baptist Church (GCPS DOGFI)
  • Second Union Baptist Church (GCPS DOGFI)

The County and Goochland County Public Schools have developed external and select internal hotspot locations at county facilities and community locations county-wide to provide citizens with enhanced opportunities to access broadband internet.   This is a short-term strategy to provide access and fill a need while the county implements longer-term strategies.
