Goochland County is involved in an effort, with our regional partners, to make our community and region less vulnerable to natural disasters and manmade hazards.
The Richmond Regional Planning District Commission, now known as PlanRVA, wants input from residents. Its hosting a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, March 9th, from 5 to 7 p.m. A flyer with information about the Virtual Public Meeting for the Richmond Crater Hazard Mitigation Plan Update is available here Virtual Public Meeting - Richmond Crater Hazard Mitigation Plan Update.
Our region is currently in the process of updating its multi-regional mitigation plan. This plan must be updated every five years. The goal of the meeting is to inform the public of what hazards are covered in our regional plan and how we are modeling the impacts of those hazards where you live and work. The plan will also determine what actions your community has committed to reduce the impacts of hazards on critical infrastructure. We are also seeking feedback so that the final plan reflects your concerns.

Residents can provide input during the virtual public meeting on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 from 5-7pm via Zoom. Residents can also offer their thoughts on the hazard mitigation plan by completing a survey.
