Beginning the week of July 11, 2022, the Chickahominy Health District will offer the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 6 months through 4 or 5 years old, following guidance from the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration.

Families have several options for where to get their children the COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccination sites may include:

  • Local Health Departments (including Charles City, Goochland, Hanover, and New Kent)
  • Community Clinics (managed by the Local Health Department)
  • Pediatric & Family Medicine Offices
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Retail Pharmacies (for children ages 3 years and older)

Those wishing to get their children vaccinated at a Chickahominy Health District clinic (either at the Local Health Department or at one of the special community-based clinics) should make an appointment by contacting the district’s COVID-19 Call Center: 804-365-3240 or by requesting an appointment online: https://tinyurl.com/VaxCHD. The district will be holding special clinics – catered for this youngest age group – during the months of July and August. These health district clinics will be conducted by appointment only and a parent and/or guardian must accompany their children.

For additional COVID-19 vaccination options, please visit vaccinate.virginia.gov or call 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (TTY users can call 711). Assistance is available in English, Spanish, and more than 100 other languages.

Everyone 6 months and older is now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19, and we encourages all Virginians to get their vaccination. For more information on COVID-19 in Virginia, please visit vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus.
