Fire-Rescue Responds to Mutual Aid Request

Early the morning of September 30th, Goochland County Fire-Rescue responded to a statewide mutual aid request, sending 5 fire-rescue members, 1 Engine, and a support vehicle to Washington County. Damascus and much of Southwest Virginia has been ravaged by flooding from Hurricane Helene. The resources on deployment are above and beyond normal on duty staffing to handle emergencies in the County.

Goochland County Names Paul Williams as the New Director of Information Technology

Goochland County is excited to announce Paul Williams as the new Director of Information Technology.

Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and computing from the University of Aston, is a Chartered Accountant, and a certified PRINCE2 project manager. He brings with him over 20 years of experience in Information Technology leadership. Read more.

Buy Gas Locally and Help Fund Goochland Transportation Projects

Did you know that buying gas at a local gas station, directly benefits transportation projects in your community?

The General Assembly established the Central Virginia Transportation Authority (CVTA) in 2020 with the goal of administering locally generated transportation funding. With the CVTA, 50% of the taxes collected through gasoline purchases are distributed back to the localities to fund local transportation projects.
