Goochland County Announces Re-Organization of Senior Level Leadership

Goochland County is pleased to announce a re-organization of staff in senior level leadership positions with Josh Gillespie and Sara Worley as the County’s Deputy County Administrators serving in new roles. The appointments of these key senior leaders are a result of the work taking place as a part of County Administrator Dr. Jeremy Raley’s entry plan unveiled on July 1, 2025, including the identification of staff strengths and goals for key leadership positions. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Now Available in Goochland County

This program delivers FREE books directly to your child’s mailbox every month, from birth until their fifth birthday. It is a fantastic way to build their home library and foster a love for reading. Reading to children early on helps their literacy development and prepares them for school. Read more.

Back to School: Watch out for school buses and children

🚨 Attention Drivers🚨

Goochland County Public Schools will be back in session next week! That means buses will be on the road and children will be near the roadway. Be sure to pay extra attention when driving to ensure everyone arrives at their destination safely.

Remember to:
🚌Stop for school buses with flashing red lights and an extended stop sign
🚌Remain stopped until the bus moves again and everyone is clear
🚌Stop when a bus is loading/unloading passengers, even if the lights are not activated

Mills Jones Serves on the State Executive Council

Did You Know?

Mills Jones, Goochland County Human Services Director, sits on the State Executive Council for Children’s Services(SEC).
 The SEC advises the Governor and Cabinet Secretaries on proposed policy and operational changes to the Commonwealth’s strategies to provide foster care, mental health, and special education services to children and families in Virginia. Mills was first elected to serve on December 14, 2023, and assists in developing statewide policies for services to children and families.
