Goochland County to Remember September 11, 2001

September 11, 2025 will mark 24 years since the attacks in Arlington, Virginia, New York City, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Again this year, Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue & Emergency Services will host two services. Community members are welcome to attend both services. Read more.

Technology Overlay District/Technology Zone Amendment Community Meeting

Goochland County will hold a Technology Overlay District and Technology Zone Amendment Community Meeting on Monday, September 8th starting at 6:00 p.m. at Goochland High School Auditorium at 3250 River Rd West, Goochland, Virginia 23063. Read more.

26th Annual James River Regional Cleanup - September 13th at Tucker Park

The 26th Annual James River Regional Cleanup will take place on Saturday, September 13th from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Goochland at Tucker Park at Maiden’s Landing. The James River Regional Cleanup is a cooperative, regional event spanning more than 75 miles of the James River. Each year, hundreds of volunteers make the cleanup a success. Read more.

Chamber Bluegrass & BBQ Joins Goochland County Ag Fair

The Goochland County Ag Fair is the partnership between Goochland County Parks and Recreation and the Virginia Cooperative Extension, this year we are happy to also add the Goochland Chamber Bluegrass & BBQ. This event will happen at the Goochland County Old Elementary School on Saturday, September 13th. At the event we will be having a Livestock Show starting at 10:00am, in the show you could see dairy cows, beef cows, dairy goats, sheep, poultry, rabbits, and pigs. We will also have some local talent throughout the event playing some fun Bluegrass music, along with Agriculture Vendors, Farmers Market, Food Trucks, and more!

The Goochland County Board of Supervisors and School Board have scheduled fall townhall meetings as follows:

District 5: September 22, 2025, 6:00 PM at Hope Church, 12445 Patterson Ave

Countywide: October 2, 2025, 6:00 PM in Board Meeting Room 250, County Administration Building, 1800 Sandy Hook Rd., Goochland.
