Revised Technology Overlay District and Technology Zone Ordinances Available for Public Review

Goochland County has released the revised proposed Technology Overlay District ordinance, Technology Zone ordinance, and maps for public review ahead of the November 6, 2025, Board of Supervisors Public Hearing. Read more.

County Offices Closed for Election Day

Goochland County Offices, Goochland County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, and Goochland County Parks & Recreation facilities will be CLOSED on Tuesday, November 4th in observance of Election Day.

** Please note the following exceptions to the closures. **

Goochland County's Office of the General Registrar will be OPEN and can be reached by phone at (804) 556-5803 or email at vote@goochlandva.us. Central High Cultural and Educational Complex (Precinct 202) and Goochland Sports Complex (Precinct 301) will be open as polling locations. For information on voting and elections please visit www.goochlandva.us/vote.

Goochland County's Convenience Centers will be OPEN normal hours (7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Goochland County Sheriff's Office and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse & theft during the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The public can rid their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs by bringing them for disposal to Fire-Rescue Station #1 - Manakin and Fire-Rescue Station #5 - Goochland. Goochland County, the Goochland County Sheriff's Office, and the Rural Substance Awareness and Action Coalition (RSAAC) urge the public to bring your pills for disposal to the locations below between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th.

During this opportunity, the DEA cannot accept liquids, needles, or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
