The Goochland County Board of Supervisors announced at its May 3rd meeting that Victor J. “Vic” Carpenter will be the county’s next County Administrator.
Carpenter will begin his duties as County Administrator effective June 20, 2022, succeeding Manuel “Manny” Alvarez, Jr. who has served as Interim County Administrator since August 2021.

The Goochland County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 to elect District 2 Supervisor Neil Spoonhower as Chair and District 4 Supervisor Don Sharpe as Vice-Chair for 2022.

On Friday, December 17, 2021, Goochland County released Goochland’s Proposed Redistricting Map that proposes revisions to the boundaries of the county’s five election districts to ensure equal representation for county voters in future elections.
As citizens may know, the county’s current election districts were created after the 2010 US Census and the proposed revisions are to accommodate the county’s population growth based on the data from the 2020 US Census.
