[ARCHIVED] Ashland Road to I-64 Westbound Ramp Closure and Detour Planned Overnight on September 23, 24 and 28

The I-64 westbound on-ramp from Ashland Road (Route 623) in Goochland County will be closed overnight on Tuesday, September 23, Wednesday, September 24 and Sunday, September 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. A detour will be in place to access I-64 West.

Traffic on Ashland Road (Route 623) north and south at the I-64 interchange will also be reduced to one lane with police and flaggers directing traffic flow during the ramp closures.

Work crews are constructing an additional lane on the I-64 westbound ramp. The additional lane is expected to be completed in September and will reduce congestion on Ashland Road.

Drivers are urged to use caution and expect potential delays when traveling through the corridor. Please stay alert and follow posted signs and detours. Keep our crews safe.

This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if needed.

Detour details:

Motorists should use the following detour to access I-64 West:

Continue on Ashland Road South to I-64 East.
Follow I-64 East and take exit 175 to 288 South.
Take the exit to 250 Broad Street.
Head toward 250 East to Short Pump.
Take the exit North 288 to I-64.
Continue on North 288 and take the left exit to I-64 West
