[ARCHIVED] Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services Thankful for Blood Donors

Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services is grateful for the community support for its first community blood drive, held in partnership with Inova Blood Donor Services. The event took place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Goochland Sports Complex and resulted in 36 blood donations - a vital contribution to the region’s emergency medical services.

The blood collected will directly support Goochland’s EMS Blood Program, which was launched earlier this year in collaboration with Chesterfield Fire and EMS, Virginia State Police EMS Med-Flight 1, and Inova Blood Donor Services.

The department extends its heartfelt thanks to all donors and volunteers who made this event a success.

“Goochland County is proud to support the lifesaving work of our Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services through our collaboration with Inova and Chesterfield County. The success of this first community blood drive is a testament to the generosity of Team Goochland and the strength of our partnerships.”, said Dr. Jeremy Raley, County Administrator. “Every donation made is a direct investment in the health and safety of our community. We are deeply grateful to all who contributed.”
