[ARCHIVED] Program of the Week: Zumba

Zumba instructor, Kerry Crowley, knows how to make fitness fun! The bright lights go off and the fun, colorful, lights come on! This is a judgment-free class where all you need to do is just keep moving. Get to know Kerry!

"I moved to Goochland in June 2020 from Hillsville, VA. I have lived in VA since 1986, but originally from Kansas City, MO. I am a mom to 5 amazing sons, 4 of which are out there setting the world on fire by creating families and amazing careers and I still have my youngest at home with me, Carter who is currently in 8th grade here in Goochland. I am blessed to be able to serve the public with my 18 + year career with USDA, Rural Development, as the Senior Loan Specialist, which has allowed me to help people all over the state here in VA. In 2012 I decided that I wanted to help myself and started my fitness journey and took my very first Zumba class and that was all it took. I was hooked! I was certified in 2013 and have been teaching ever since. I have also held other certifications and licenses since that time such as, Zumba Sentao, Les Mills CS Worx and Certified Personal Trainer. I stopped teaching in 2019 due to my work commitments and travel but when I saw an opportunity to start again here in Goochland I jumped at the chance and I haven’t looked back. I have met some wonderful people who keep coming to my classes even when I am not perfect (that happens a lot). We laugh, sing and sweat but most of we keep moving. It only takes 2 things to be perfect in any class I am teaching…a positive attitude and a will to try."

Zumba is a dance fitness format that will include pop, hip hop, and international music with dance rhythms that incorporate interval exercises. These dances will help you tone target areas on your body and absolutely increase your confidence as this class is a judgment free zone. This party is for everyone regardless of their fitness level. The goal is to have fun and keep moving!
