Daylight Saving Time Begins Sunday, March 9th at 2 AM!

Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 9th! Clocks will "spring forward" one hour at 2am! If you have any manual clocks in your home or car, remember to change them before going to bed Saturday night.
It is also an ideal time to check and change the batteries in your smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors & NOAA weather radios!

Commissioner of the Revenue March 20th Final Deadline Approaching

Did you miss the March 1st deadline for submitting High Mileage Deduction, Business Licenses, and Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled forms?

Goochland County's Commissioner of the Revenue Office reminds citizens that the final deadline to submit the forms is March 20, 2025.  Citizens who have failed to submit the forms should contact the Commissioner of the Revenue Office via email (commissioner@goochlandva.us) or phone (804-556-5807) by March 20, 2025.

Goochland Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services Recognized for Excellence in Virginia Fire Services

On Friday, February 21, 2025, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced the recipients of the 2024 Governor’s Fire Service Awards. These awards are intended to recognize those who demonstrate excellence, dedication, and leadership in the fire service field.

Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services was recognized for Excellence in Virginia Fire Services for its new live fire structure located at the Henley Fire-Training Center. Opened on August 29, 2024, the $1.2 million facility utilizes gas to simulate a fire, which allows training crews to be met with real flame, heat and restricted visibility just like they would in a real-life event. The container style structure also includes re-configurable wall panels which allow for the creation of multiple different scenarios.  Read more.

Firefly Fiber Broadband Virtual Town Hall

Firefly Fiber Broadband is holding a Virtual Town Hall on Thursday, March 13th at 4 PM for the RISE Project Caledonia and Tabscott service zones to learn more about Firefly, ask questions, and find out how you can sign up for service.  Firefly’s RISE Project Caledonia and Tabscott service zones include Goochland residents served by Dominion Energy who live in the Northwestern area of Goochland. Residents in these areas should register online, there is an option to attend online or by phone.  A recording of the Virtual Town Hall will be made available to those who register. Read more.
