Goochland County has declared a local State of Emergency ahead of the winter storm expected to impact the area beginning Saturday, January 24, 2026. With the amount of snow and ice expected over the weekend, residents should prepare for hazardous road conditions and power outages.

Roadway Conditions
The Virginia State Police is advising drivers to stay off the roadways during and after the storm to allow the Virginia Department of Transportation time to safely clear the roads. If it is absolutely necessary to travel, be sure to check 511 Virginia before leaving. To report downed trees or road hazards, call VDOT's Customer Service Center at (804) 367-ROAD (800-367-7623).

Both the Central and Western Convenience Centers will be closing at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday January 24. Both Convenience Centers will also be closed on Sunday January 25 and Monday January 26.
All Goochland County Parks and Recreation events are cancelled for both Saturday January 25 and Sunday January 26.
