Public Safety

FR Header

This proposal will make funds available for Goochland County’s capital improvement program, not to exceed $36 million.  The proposed bonds are expected to fund the following projects:

  • Construction of a new fire station along the Route 288 corridor in the eastern portion of the County
  • Construction of a new Courthouse facility to replace aging infrastructure at the existing Courthouse Village complex, and to combine all of Goochland’s courts, clerks’ offices, and related public safety services into a single facility with modern workspace and security features

The County Board of Supervisors may in the future alter these specific plans, but would still have to use the funds for a purpose described in the ballot question.  Under the financing plan prepared for this bond referendum, approval of the referendum question will not require a tax rate increase.
