Infiltration and Inflow Study - Courthouse Sewer System
Beginning in June, the Goochland County Department of Public Utilities will be working with RK&K Civil Engineering and Duke’s to conduct an Infiltration and Inflow (I & I) Study on the sewer system in the Courthouse area.
The Infiltration and Inflow Study is a routine assessment of the manholes and the sewer lines in the Courthouse village area. During this process, homeowners may notice contractors moving equipment from manhole to manhole. While the majority of the work will take place along the sewer easements, contractors may need to gain access to manholes located on private property.
The study is expected to take 60 days, depending on the weather. Once complete, the study will identify recommendations for repairs, rehabilitation, and/or replacement of substandard manholes and sewer lines.
