[ARCHIVED] Goochland County Announces Gillespie as Deputy County Administrator

Gillespie Named DCA

Goochland County is pleased to announce Josh Gillespie as the County’s new Deputy County Administrator. 

 

Gillespie, who resides in Goochland, comes to the County with over twenty years of planning experience and currently serves on the Goochland Design Review Committee. Most recently, Gillespie served as the Director of Community Development for Louisa County. Prior to his time in Louisa, he served as the Director of Planning and Development Services for Orange County, and as a Planning and Special Projects Administrator for Chesterfield County. Gillespie holds a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Furman University and is an AICP Certified Planner.


In his role as Deputy County Administrator, Gillespie will provide guidance and support regarding operations and ongoing initiatives in Community Development, which includes planning, permitting, transportation and utilities for the County. He will also manage county-wide special projects, in addition to providing operational support to the County Administrator.


On joining Goochland, Gillespie said, “Goochland is a county of many treasures and strong community pride. Since moving to Goochland, I have had the joy of making friends across the county. We live in a great place, and I am grateful to County Administrator Carpenter for trusting me to continue the County’s tradition of responsible administration.”

 

Gillespie will officially begin his role with Goochland County on April 29th, 2024.
