The Thelma Bland Watson Personal Care Aide School presented by Senior Connections and VCU Gerontology will occur on August 26 through August 30 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.   At the end of the free 5-day course participants will receive their PCA certification.

A Personal Care Aide is a professional caregiver responsible for helping people maintain their personal health, wellbeing, & hygiene by providing care in the home or preferred living environment.  

Choosing the career path to be a PCA is a way to use your passions in helping and caring for others in a meaningful way. PCAs truly make a difference in the lives of so many by not only giving care, but also hope and comfort.  This program gives you the skills you need to give excellent and compassionate care and provides you with support to help you succeed both personally and professionally.

To be eligible for this program, participants’ must be a resident of Goochland County and their family income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty level.
