Goochland County is proud to announce the inaugural recipient of its Heart of Service Award, created to honor team members who exemplify the core values of HEART: Honor, Empathy, Accountability, Respect, and Transparency in their daily work.

Steven Parrish, Facilities Technician with the General Services team, received the award during the January 6 Board of Supervisors meeting. 

The General Services team plays a vital role in ensuring the County’s facilities are safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. From supporting major Capital Improvement Projects to handling countless behind-the-scenes tasks, this team serves as the backbone of our operations.

Steven Parrish stands out as one of the unsung heroes of this team. Known for his positive attitude and meticulous attention to detail, Steven approaches every task with professionalism and pride. His dedication ensures that the County’s facilities not only look their best, but function efficiently. 

While Steven embodies all HEART values, his strength lies in Accountability - a quality that shines even when much of his work happens out of public view. His commitment and dedication make a lasting impact on the community.

“Steven’s diligence and positive energy are what make him truly deserving of this recognition,” said Dr. Raley, County Administrator. “We are proud to celebrate his contributions and the example he sets for all of Team Goochland.”
