[ARCHIVED] Annual Testing of Dry Hydrants in the County to Begin in April

Annual Testing of Dry Hydrants - April 2024

Goochland County Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services will begin their annual testing and preventative maintenance program for dry hydrants beginning in April. Dry hydrants in ponds, lakes, and streams throughout the county are a relied upon means of rural water supply to support fire suppression.

Trident Mobile Service, LLC will perform the testing, preventive maintenance, and inspections this year. You will see them throughout the county over the next couple months.

Dry Hydrant - Fire Rescue

Goochland County Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services is contacting homeowners and property owners to notify them of the upcoming inspections. They anticipate completing the dry hydrant testing by early summer. Kirsten Martin with Goochland County Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services is coordinating this year’s inspections and may be contacted at 804-556-5304 or kmartin@goochlandva.us if there are any questions or concerns.
