VDOT Highway Alert

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Richmond District has released its forecast of road construction/closures that could cause delays from November 16 - 23, 2018.


Four  projects are planned that will impact travel in and to Goochland County.  The full list of projects including other localities is available via the link below.


Thanksgiving Travel Period

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is lifting lane closures during the five-day Thanksgiving travel period to keep interstates and highways clear for motorists as they travel to their holiday destinations. VDOT will lift lane closures on most interstates and other major roads in Virginia from noon Wednesday, November 21 until noon Monday, November 26.


I-64 West between mm 169 and Ashland Rd. (mm 173) - Guardrail upgrades - November 18 - 23

The right lane will be closed on I-64 west between mile marker 169 and Ashland Rd. (mile marker 173) from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. November 18 - 23 for guardrail upgrades.


I-64 East between mms 169 and 171 - Guardrail upgrades - November 18 - 23

The right lane will be closed on I-64 east between mile markers 169 and 171 from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. November 18 - 23 for guardrail upgrades.


Broad Street Rd. (Rt. 250) east between Cross County Rd. and Oakland Church Rd. - Paving - November 17 - 18

There will be alternating lanes closed on Broad Street Rd. (Rt. 250) east between Cross County Rd. and Oakland Church from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. November 17 - 18 for paving.


Broad Street Rd. (Rt. 250) east between Elpis Church Rd. and Oilville Rd. - Paving - November 17 - 18

There will be alternating lanes closed on Broad Street Rd. (Rt. 250) east between Cross Elpis Church Rd. and Oilville Rd. from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. November 17 - 18 for paving.
