The Goochland County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 to elect District 2 Supervisor Manuel Alvarez, Jr. as chairman and District 1 Supervisor Susan F. Lascolette as vice-chair for 2019.
Alvarez is serving as the board’s chairman for the second time. He most recently held the post in 2014. He succeeds District 5 Supervisor Ken Peterson in the position.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Goochland County as Chair of the county board of supervisors,” remarked Chairman Manuel Alvarez, Jr. “I would like to thank Supervisor Peterson for his leadership over the past year and the Board of Supervisors for having trust in me to serve again as Chairman. The entire county leadership team have a busy year ahead as the county and schools are poised for completion of ongoing projects and continued success.”

Goochland’s Board of Supervisors regularly meets at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.
