[ARCHIVED] VDOT to Close Shallow Well Road (Route 654) for Pipe Replacement Work in Goochland

VDOT Highway Alert

Beginning Monday, May 6, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will close Shallow Well Road (Route 654) between Three Chopt Road and Landis Road in Goochland County for a pipe replacement project.

All lanes will be closed daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Weather permitting, work is expected to be complete by 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 7.

During repairs, drivers should follow the posted detour routes:

  • Northbound Shallow Well Rd. (Rt. 654) – Take Broad Street (Rt. 250) west to Triple T Rd./Val Park Dr. north to Landis Rd. east back to Shallow Well Rd.
  • Southbound Shallow Well Rd. (Rt. 654) – Take Landis Rd. west to Val Park Dr./Triple T Rd. south to Broad Street (Rt. 250) east back to Shallow Well Rd.
