[ARCHIVED] VDOT Highway Alerts for the week of August 23 - 31, 2019

VDOT Highway Alert

To reduce congestion and add lane capacity, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will suspend most highway construction and maintenance work zones on interstates and other roads over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Lane closures will be lifted from noon Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 to noon Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019.

Four projects are planned that will impact travel in and to Goochland County.  The full list of projects including other localities is available via the link below.

Rt. 288 north between Broad St. (Rt. 250) and I-64 east - Paving - August 25 - 26

There will be alternating lanes, ramps closed on Rt. 288 north between Broad St. (Rt. 250) and I-64 east from 7 p.m. - 6 a.m. Aug. 25-26 for paving.

Rt. 288 north - Pothole patching - August 27

The left lane will be closed on Rt. 288 north from 8:30 p.m. - 5 a.m. Aug. 27 for pothole patching. 

I-64 east between I-195 (mm 186) and mm 158 - Pothole patching - August 27

There will be alternating, mobile lane closures on I-64 east between I-195 (mile marker 186) and mile marker 158 from 8:30 p.m. - 5 a.m. Aug. 27 for pothole patching.

Maidens Rd. (Rt. 634) over Courthouse Creek - Bridge work - Through fall 2019

Maidens Rd. (Rt. 634) will be closed over Courthouse Creek continuously through fall 2019 for bridge work. Use posted detour route. More: http://bit.ly/2jHJXZO
