The Goochland County Board of Supervisors and Goochland County Economic Development Authority (EDA) are embarking upon a joint-effort to update the County’s Economic Development Strategic Plan.
The joint-effort kicked off in May during “Business Appreciation Month” and is expected to occur over seven (7) months, with adoption in Fall 2017.
A key part of the process is input from the community, specifically the business community. A short business survey has been created to capture important real world information from businesses in the county. Available during the month of May, the survey is located on the Economic Development website (goochlandforbusiness.com) or via the link below.
According to Matthew Ryan, Goochland County Economic Development Director, “All businesses from sole proprietors to large corporations are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to provide critical input on Goochland County’s economic development efforts.”
As part of the strategic planning process, a separate survey for citizen input will be forth coming.
Goochland County’s current Economic Development strategic plan was adopted on October 4, 2011. Numerous economic development projects have occurred because of the strategic plan, including Hardywood Park Craft Brewery’s West Creek location, Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Institute, a Joint Venture with VCU Health Systems, and West Creek Medical Park. The County has also experienced over $251 million dollars in development specifically attributable to recent economic development efforts.
Businesses with questions about the strategic planning process can contact Matthew Ryan via (804) 556-5862 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
