The 23rd Annual James River Regional Cleanup is a cooperative, regional event spanning more than 75 miles of the James River. Each year, hundreds of volunteers make the cleanup a success. They collect hundreds of bags of trash and recyclable materials. We invite you to be a part of this tremendous regional effort!
Registration is easy. Select from a list of official James River Regional Cleanup sites, complete the online registration, and show up Saturday, September 10. Join Goochland County at Tucker Park at Maiden’s Landing located at 1300 Maidens Road, Maidens, VA 23102 for the annual cleanup. Sign-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., cleanup activities begin at 9:00 a.m., and wrap at noon. Due to limited capacity, if you are unable to register, JRAC encourages volunteers to clean up in areas near their home or neighborhood streams.
The annual event is free and open to individuals, families, groups, boaters, and paddlers! All children (ages 18 and under) must be accompanied by an adult. Please remember to dress comfortably, wear closed-toe shoes, bring gloves, masks, trash bags, grabbers, water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hat.
Wherever you clean up, please take photos, count your trash bags and email cleanup results to info@jrac-va.org.
