In Person Absentee Early Voting Starts September 18

Dedicated solely for in-person absentee early voting, the Voter Satellite Office location is located in Goochland County Parks and Recreation’s Goochland Sports Complex building at 1800 Sandy Hook Rd., Goochland, VA 23063.

Beginning on September 18, the Voter Satellite Office location will be open for in-person absentee early voting Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. continuing until Friday, October 30.  There will also be special Saturday hours on October 24 and October 31, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.  October 31 is the last day to vote early. 

Dedicated parking for in-person absentee early voting is located directly behind the Goochland Sports Complex and is accessible by an entrance off River Road West (Route 6).  Dedicated parking for Voters 65 or Older and Voters with Disabilities is located in front of the Goochland Sports Complex and the new Office of the General Registrar’s building and is accessible from Sandy Hook Road (Route 522).

Below is a map showing the location of Voter Satellite Office for In Person Absentee/Early Voting and the designated parking areas described above.

Pursuant to Executive Order Sixty-Three and Order of Public Health Emergency Five from Governor Ralph Northam all patrons entering the Voter Satellite Office, the Office of the General Registrar and all precincts are required to wear a face mask or facial covering when entering, exiting, traveling through, and spending time in the buildings.  The Office of the General Registrar will honor these identified exceptions:

  • while eating and drinking
  • while exercising
  • any person who has trouble breathing, or incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the face covering without assistance
  • any person seeking to communicate with a hearing-impaired person, for which the mouth needs to be visible
  • any person with a health condition that keeps them from wearing a face covering.

Ballots for the November 3, 2020 November General Election will be available Friday, September 18, but you can request them right now!  The last day to request an Absentee Ballot to be sent to you is Friday, October 23.

The deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration for the 2020 November General Election is October 13.  The 2020 November General Election will occur on November 3, 2020 with all precincts open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
