County staff are working to resolve the issue and restore service but anticipate the outage will last through the middle of next week.
The outage only affects the Wi-Fi Hotspot at:
- Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 6 – Hadensville
In the interim community members can take advantage of Goochland Area Wi-Fi Hotspots at the following nearby locations:
- Byrd Elementary School
- County Line Baptist Church (GCPS DOGFI)
- Second Union Baptist Church (GCPS DOGFI)
- Goochland Fire-Rescue Station 4 – Fife
- Central High Cultural and Educational Complex
The County and Goochland County Public Schools have developed external and select internal hotspot locations at county facilities and community locations county-wide to provide citizens with enhanced opportunities to access broadband internet. This is a short-term strategy to provide access and fill a need while the county implements longer-term strategies.
